It is all to easy to get to get lost in the artistry and beauty of the traditional dances. But beyond the pageantry, the principles of caring, respect, family, and unpretentious pride is at the core of the native culture. As such, the Pow Wow becomes an opportunity to honor their ancestry, promote understanding, and display a culture hundreds of in the making. 

This young brave found he was the only dancer in his classification and would have to dance alone. Without hesitation he prepared for his performance. As he began, two native elders came forward from the crowd and stood quietly in support.
